The notary who will be assisting you with signing loan documents will require a copy of your valid state issued drivers license or other state or federally issued photo identification. Make sure it is not expired. Otherwise, get it updated now.
Not sure if your identification can be used?
In order for a California notary to use your identification it must have been issued by the state or federal government AND have:
- A photograph of you
- A physical description of you
- An expiration date (in some cases your ID can be expired up to 6 months– but we DO NOT recommend this)
- An identifying number
- Your signature
